Exercising, getting fit and staying fit is very important. It can help you increase your energy levels, improve muscle strength, maintain a healthy weight, improve your brain function and enhance your immune system.

Other than that, physical exercise has been known to be good for the heart because it reduces LCD cholesterol, this is the bad cholesterol that clogs the arteries and reduces blood pressure. It also helps to reduce the risk of some certain types of cancer.

Exercise can help prevent and treat mental illnesses such as depression. It stimulates the release of endorphins which make you feel better and more relaxed. Active people also tend to sleep better. And for a piece of good news to you; exercise reduces some effects of aging!

  1. Nutrition: Consuming a sensible balanced diet can help you to achieve optimum health throughout your life. Food provides your body with energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals which help you grow and function properly.Proper nutrition lowers your risk of heart disease. If you focus on a diet that is low in fats, cholesterol and sodium you greatly improve on the health of your heart. Bones and teeth on the other hand need a diet rich in calcium. Vitamin D helps your body absorb this calcium.Weight control is also another benefit of good nutrition, it is advised that you eat no more calories than you burn each day. Your energy levels are also greatly boosted when you eliminate excess fats, sugars and refined carbohydrates.
  1. Relaxation and meditation: The effectiveness of meditation comes from deep relaxation, when we are deeply relaxed, the body and mind are refreshed and revitalized. Regular meditation is known to lower blood pressure, trigger faster healing process in your body, lower cholesterol, boost the immune system, decrease use and dependence on drugs, reduce anxiety and also help one sleep better.Relaxation and meditation reduce the production of the stress hormone. Studies of the brain show that meditation boosts the production of alpha waves which combat anxiety and lowers levels of lactic acid in the blood.
