When performing a research, students could make specific mistakes that they can avoid.
- We don’t make a scholarly work: In reality, students fail to make their researches properly identified as a scholarly work. In this case, it is important for students to make sure that they have refined topics. Everything should be clearly achievable and articulated. They need to choose an appropriate design for the research both qualitatively and quantitatively. This can make a huge different between a successful completion of our research or whether we have a false start. One thing that can make use fail to do a scholarly research is that we don’t identify people who can benefit from our research. In this case, it is important to use an appropriate language with proper terminology and vocabulary. We should always use the right references and citations. We should share the proper plan for analyzing and conducting our research.
- We don’t present it properly: Eventually, students are required to present their findings. This will help students to set a proper guideline and they can take advantage of specific details for their presentation. Aspiring scholars should be able to improve their chances of offering scholarly presentation to everyone. They need to be able to communicate with other students and professors during the presentation technique. In this case, we should see how a winning document can be structured.
- We don’t have a basic outline: Many students don’t have a basic outline that defines structure of their research. This will make it more difficult to accomplish our task. We should always practice giving our presentation before we deliver it to the audience. This can be very hard to do if we don’t have a proper outline.
- We don’t manage time properly: Unfortunately, many students don’t have properly scheduled plan. Their schedules are not easy to use and they can’t provide the best results. One thing to ensure success is by creating a scheduling system or calendar to conduct research and analyze our data. It is also important to mention other tasks not related to our current research, because they also require our time and effort. If we need to postpone the research due to other impending tasks, we should know when we should begin again. In general, with proper timing, we should be able to achieve our measurable and specific goals. We should have the habit of finishing tasks and assignments well ahead of schedule. This will make sure that we are still able to progress well, even when unexpected things have happened.
We don’t seek proper funding: In some cases, specific researches are comprehensive enough that we need to seek for funding from different sources. In this case, we may need to create a budget for each phase of the research, such as data gathering, analysis, writing, review, submission, revision and presentation. Many students are forced to stop their researches indefinitely, by choosing a topic that actually requires more funding.
